SA Hip Hop Awards 2017 Nominees And Winners

SAHHA nominees out now.

The SA Hip Hop Awards (SAHHA) announced the nominees for the 6th edition of the award show on Monday, with artists Cassper Nyovest, Kwesta and YoungstaCPT all receiving many nominations. 

Leading the frontline with the most nominations this year is Cassper Nyovest. The star has been recognized in categories such as Best Album, Best Male and MVP. The ‘Tito Mboweni’ hitmaker will also be honored with the Milestone award for his contribution in the hip-hop industry. 

Also making his debut at the SAHHA this year with 3 nominations is Cape Town-born rapper YoungstaCPT in categories Best Lyricist, Best Video and Best Mixtape.

The award ceremony theme for this year is “Hip Hop Politics” and will take place in Johannesburg on Wednesday 13th December at Gold Reef City’s Lyric Theatre.

Kwesta Owns The South African Music Awards (SAMAS)


  JOHANNESBURG – Rapper Kwesta stole the show at this year’s South African Music Awards (SAMA) on Saturday evening at the Sun City Superbowl in the North West.

 The 23rd edition of the SAMAS was hosted by comedian TumiMorake and choreographer SomiziMhlongo.

The Ngud hit maker started his winning streak when he won the Best Collaboration Album at the industry awards. The rapper walked away with the following:

  • Samro Highest Airplay of the Year
  • SAMPRA Highest Airplay of the Year
  • Best Rap Album
  • Best Male Artist of the Year
  • Best Album of the Year for his Dakar II album and hit single Ngud.

Looks like it was a Kwesta show at this years SAMA’s with Kwesta Da Kar bagging 6 awards in total.
